Arccon began trading in August 2003, and has experienced rapid growth, bringing the business to its current position in the market. As a client-orientated construction company, we work beyond commercial expectations to provide a better and proactive service. We believe that high levels of cooperation with clients, architects and engineers deliver an enhanced project outcome for all participants. We understand all the factors of a project and can offer cost and time-saving alternatives at each step of a development.
By appreciating the developer's requirements in terms of quality, presentation, functionality, and their financial and time considerations, we can more clearly undertake our role in the partnership.
Value engineering is part of our philosophy that we bring to every project. In addition to our design and construct services, all projects and tenders are reviewed for possible cost and time-saving design alternatives.
From our first assignment - four bulky goods showrooms - we have established a reputation of smart engineered solutions. We were subsequently awarded a $20 million refurbishment project in the Perth CBD. More large contracts followed, and we were awarded a $65 million shopping centre development, and had over $300 million of works in hand.
Our success is derived from our determination to be different from other construction companies. We didn't want to be just another construction company on a tender list, hoping to win on price alone. We wanted to stand apart from the market and offer something different... a smarter proactive service with a better outcome.
We saw that we could make a huge difference to the cost outcome of a project by working with the architect and client in value engineering, and by costing different project alternatives. We recognised that the conventional design-tender-build model often did not provide the client with the best value for money, as the cost of the project was only confirmed during the tender process, once the design was already complete. This proactive service has allowed clients and architects to make a more informed decision on better alternatives.
Arccon is now favourably considered for projects in excess of $100 million, and has open tendering accreditation for all State Government developments.
With 50 staff spanning design, estimating, project management, systems controls, scheduling and site management, we have a broad spread of expertise to take on complex and challenging construction projects on a design and construct basis.
